Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 28, 2026

Your library and reading progress stay on your device and in your own iCloud. Reed shows ads and uses analytics to keep the app free and improve it.

1 Information We Collect

Reed has no accounts and never asks for your name, email, or contacts. Your books and reading data are not sent to us.

To keep the app free and reliable, Reed uses third-party SDKs that collect limited information on their own:

2 Your Books & Reading Data

Imported books, reading progress, bookmarks, and settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's frameworks.

If you enable iCloud sync, this data is stored in your personal iCloud account (Apple CloudKit) and synced across your devices under Apple's privacy policy. We never have access to your iCloud data.

3 Third-Party Services

Reed integrates the following Google services. Their handling of data is governed by Google's privacy policy:

4 Tracking & Your Choices

On first launch Reed asks for permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency. If you decline, ads become non-personalized.

You can buy the Remove Ads in-app purchase to turn off ads entirely. You can also change tracking permission anytime in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

5 Children's Privacy

Reed is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

6 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
