1 Information We Collect

NoteVox is built with an offline-first, privacy-first architecture. We do not collect any personal information.

• No account registration required
• No analytics or tracking SDKs
• No advertising identifiers
• No server-side data storage or processing

2 Audio & Transcription Data

All audio recordings are stored locally on your device in the app's sandboxed container.

Speech-to-text transcription is performed entirely on-device using WhisperKit (based on OpenAI Whisper). No audio data is ever sent to external servers. The app does not require an internet connection to transcribe.

If you enable iCloud sync, recording metadata (titles, timestamps, tags, and transcript text) is stored in your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. Raw audio files are never uploaded to iCloud. Apple's privacy policy applies to iCloud data.

3 Microphone Access

NoteVox requires microphone permission solely for recording audio. The microphone is only active when you explicitly start a recording. Microphone access is never used in the background or for any purpose other than recording you initiate.

4 AI Model Download

On first use of the transcription feature, NoteVox downloads the Whisper AI model (approximately 600 MB) over HTTPS from Hugging Face. This is a one-time download. The model is stored on your device and no personal data is sent during or after the download.

5 Third-Party Services

WhisperKit: On-device speech recognition engine by Argmax, based on OpenAI Whisper. All processing is local — no data is sent to external servers.

Apple iCloud (CloudKit): Optional cloud sync through your personal Apple account, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

NoteVox does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services.

6 Data Retention

All recordings and transcripts are stored locally on your device. You can delete them at any time from within the app. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.

7 Children's Privacy

NoteVox does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. As no data is collected from any user, this policy applies equally to users of all ages.

8 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
